‘Nova’s Yarou still out with infection
Villanova freshman forward/center Mouphtaou Yarou, who was sent home from Puerto Rico with what was described as a viral infection just before the Wildcats’ began playing in a tournament down there last week, is still being evaluated by doctors to determine the origins of the illness, the university said in a statement issued just a few minutes ago. Yarou had undergone tests at Jefferson Hospital on Tuesday, and the results of those tests are not yet known. Yarou was additionally described as “very doubtful” for Saturday’s Big Fiver against La Salle at the Ski Lodge, which tips at 3:30.

Dom,
I havent yet had a chance to catch up with any hoops lately but I am interested in this story due to fact that Yarou has this mysterious viral infection. WIth Nova being ranked #4 fans would be hopeful that he has nothing more than just the “common cold”. But I guess fans would have to wait and see.
I know with the recent media attention of the “swine flu virus” also called Influenza A H1N1 the report of this infection has the potential to grow legs and go off into all sorts of directions for Yarou. Speculations can be made such as, if he does have a simple cold why all the fuss of going to a major institution like Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and what is all the mystery about? Let’s just say he does have swine flu (hopefully not) what about the status of his fellow teammates. Due to the cantagious nature of such an infection it is spread easily through the air via droplets expelled from the mouth when an infected person talks, coughs or sneezes. I do work in the health care setting and I have seen patients with influenza A H1N1 and people do get extremely ill from it. Sometimes this illness is life-threating.
My hopes for Yarou is that he is not seriously ill, and that he has a speedy recovery from this illness. Let’s see Villanova have a competitive yet winning season.
