La Salle signs top-shelf decent Florida guard
The Explorers announced today that they’ve signed Sam Mills, a 6-3, 180-pound guard that Scout.com ranks as the 21st best guard in the nation. Mills is a senior at Cardinal Gibbons in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and La Salle’s own press release states that the Explorers are now joined by only Duke — Duke! — as one of just two programs to have inked two guards ranked in Scout’s Top 35. Tyreek Duren, of Ss. Neumann-Goretti in South Philly and ranked No. 32, is the other.
From the looks of this video, Mills can really shoot. But, as if to prove the recruiting shell-game is an imperfect science, ESPN Insider has him ranked No. 187 among shooting guards. So make of that whay you will.
