Explorers get commitment from South Philly guard
From the looks of things, La Salle got itself a pretty good pickup on Monday when Tyreek Duren, a 6-0 senior point guard at Ss. Neumann-Goretti in South Philly, picked the Explorers over Temple and UMass. The tremendous Zagsblog says ESPN Insiders has Duren ranked as the No. 25 point guard in the nation for the Class of 2010. The Daily News‘ story quotes Duren as saying he picked 20th and Olney over North Broad Street because he feels he has a chance to play sooner. The Inquirer says Duren “can penetrate, dish and finish.” ESPN Insiders quotes Duren’s assistant coach at Neumann-Goretti as saying the A-10 would be “a perfect level for Duren.”
Big thanks to reader Dan for the heads-up on this one. Take a bow, Dan.
