A final thought on Florida State 65, La Salle 61
Though this game did not in any way resemble it, one couldn’t help but be reminded of Feb. 23, 1989, the last time the Seminoles came to Philly to play the Explorers. It was a game won by La Salle, 101-100, at the Palestra, and it is believed by those who were there that FSU’s George McCloud and La Salle’s Lionel Simmons scored every point. Had to be some night.
